OKATSUNE 306
General information
The Okatsune 306 are professional thinning shears with a rounded tip, specially designed for cutting very soft stems. Their extremely thin blades (2.3 mm) are the most delicate of all Okatsune thinning shears. The rounded tip prevents damage to fruit, flowers, and hands. They are also suitable for cuttings, thinning, and cutting rope and paper.
Product information
The Okatsune 306 is the pure essence of thinning shears:
- Very sharp, always with a clean cut
- Simple design for optimal ease of use.
- Ultralight and yet particularly robust.
The blades of these Japanese thinning shears (Mekiri Basami) are uniquely forged from the highest-quality IZUMO YASUGI steel and have a very high Rockwell hardness of 59 to 60. This means they stay sharp for a long time and deliver a clean, precise cut in wood without much effort. Furthermore, Okatsune combines hardness with special flexibility, ensuring that the cutting blade always aligns with the counterblade.
The wider, sharper, single-sided blades are stiffer than the pointed version and provide a sturdy tip. Thanks to the unique concave blade shape, sap flows outward and the blades do not separate. The V-shaped spring ensures the shear load is evenly distributed along the spring, allowing for a smooth closure.
