OKATSUNE 104

OKATSUNE 104

General information
The Okatsune 104 bypass pruners are especially suitable for larger hands, with a length of 210 mm (10 mm longer than the 103 model). The extremely sharp blades of this pruner are forged from the finest Japanese steel (the same steel used to make samurai katanas) and allow you to effortlessly cut branches up to 25 mm high, such as shrubs, rose bushes, fruit trees, and vines.

Product information
The Okatsune 104 is the pure essence of pruners:

  • Very sharp, always with a clean cut
  • Simple design for optimal ease of use.
  • Ultralight and yet particularly robust.

The blades of this Japanese pruner (Sentei Basami) are uniquely forged from the highest-quality IZUMO YASUGI steel and have a very high Rockwell hardness of 60.0 to 61.0. This means they stay sharp for a long time and deliver a clean, precise cut in wood without much effort. Furthermore, Okatsune combines hardness with special flexibility, ensuring that the cutting blade always aligns with the counterblade, even after intensive use.

The blade is sharpened at two angles, so it cuts smoothly through the wood without damaging the plant. Thanks to the unique hollow blade shape, sap flows freely and leaves do not separate. The V-shaped spring ensures that the cutting load is evenly distributed along the spring, ensuring a smooth closing.

The blades are very easy to sharpen with the Okatsune sharpening stone (Okatsune 412). The shears feature a locking system that can be operated with one hand. Don't forget to also order a leather sheath. The sheath with belt loop allows you to safely carry your shears when not in use but still want to keep them handy. The sheath also prolongs the life of your shears.
